What is the Social Enterprise Portfolio Program?
Every year through Portfolio Program grants, the Vancity Community Foundation supports 8-10 social enterprises that have a demonstrated potential to significantly impact their community. The program focuses on social enterprises or cooperatives that:
- create meaningful employment or training experiences for people with barriers to employment
- support a social or environmental mission
- build organizational and community sustainability through the development of innovative products and services
The goal of the program is to help social enterprises achieve sustainability by ensuring access to the financial and technical resources they need to succeed. Click here to learn more about funding criteria for the Social Enterprise Portfolio Program.
How is Demonstrating Value Involved?
Once selected, program participants use Demonstrating Value to report back to the Vancity Community Foundation by creating performance snapshots. These snapshots are also used by the social enterprise as a comprehensive overview of organizational performance and value that is easy to access, interpret and use. Once completed, performance snapshots are displayed in the Demonstrating Value snapshots library.
